Shipping Perfumes

What makes perfume dangerous?

The alcohol makes it flammable. Alcohol is found in almost all perfumes and colognes. Under certain conditions, perfumes can pose a safety risk. Extra precautions have to be taken. Make sure your packing meets standards of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.

What does this mean for my parcel?

BPS accepts perfumes that meet the criteria for ID 8000 as define in the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations. To ship these parcels safely and within compliance, they must be packed, labelled, and documented properly.

Failure to comply with IATA Dangerous Goods can result in accidents which put personell and equipment at risk. Contact BPS any time you intend to ship perfumes. For more information on [IATA Dangerous Goods, here](https://www.iata.org/publications/dgr/Pages/index.aspx).
